We are a United Methodist Congregation of the North Alabama Conference. We are grateful to God for this gathering of ordinary people of faith. We strive after grace together with each new day. We strive to reach out in holy concern to the people in our community, to honor our Methodist heritage, and to model a posture of grace to a world that is all too often divided.
Meet the Pastors
Rev. Davis Johnson
& Rev. Beth Johnson
Pastor Davis has been with us since the summer of 2022, and he is an ordained United Methodist Elder. Davis has a heart for helping ordinary Christians feel, understanding, and experience the transformative grace of God. His ministry has focused on areas of religious education, conflict transformation, addressing human rights concerns in the local church, and teaching United Methodist theology.
Pastor Beth is appointed to our church as a minister of discipleship and outreach. She has ten years of experience serving as a United Methodist Deacon in areas of grief processing, community outreach, discipleship, and conflict transformation. Davis and Beth met while in seminary in 2017, and Beth joined our staff in the summer of 2025 after they were married late in 2024.
Worship Time
Worship on Sunday at 10am.
Come as you are. Get here however you can. We would love to worship with you in whatever season of life you are in and however you are able to arrive. Please contact us by sending us a message on Facebook if you have concerns about attending worship.
What to Expect
We hope you will find worship at Southside to have a consistent spirit more than a continuous style. Some Sundays are more traditional and others are contemporary. Sometimes we sing gospel music. Regardless of style, every Sunday service includes a scripturally based, life-applicable sermon.
As United Methodists, we follow in the centuries old tradition of preaching free-grace, a call to social and personal holiness, and a reliance on God's Holy Spirit.
What We Hope You Experience
When you visit, you will be welcomed by some of the friendliest people in Southside, and find a church family that makes you feel right at home.
